R&D Material Laboratory Intern
Trelleborg Sealing Solutions is seeking an R&D Material Laboratory Intern to assist in testing and analyzing polymer materials. The role involves characterizing physical and thermal properties of materials, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and maintaining laboratory operations.

Responsibilities
Test polymer material samples for the purpose of characterizing polymer’s physical and thermal properties specifically for chemical compatibility and/or Finite Elemental Analysis modeling
Perform test requirements as defined in ASTM, customer, and other industry standard specifications
Perform data analysis
Follow procedures and perform duties in compliance with lab accreditation requirements (ISO17025)
Remain free from any undue internal influence and external commercial, financial, or other pressures and influences that may adversely affect the quality of their work
General upkeep of the laboratory
Compliance with quality, safety, environmental, and customer mandated procedures
Other duties as assigned by manager
Qualification
Required
Associates Degree in a scientific field (Physics, Engineering, Chemistry or similar OR Sophomore, Junior, or Senior student working towards a scientific degree
Grade point average of 3.0 or higher
Strong analytical, decision making, and problem solving skills required
Technical writing skills required
Ability to work independently the majority of the time while still functioning well in a team environment
Positive, professional, can-do demeanor
This position requires the use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR
Preferred
Lab experience preferred
Proficient in MS office preferred
Experience with coding a plus
