Responsibilities

Responsible for routine maintenance and repair of the entire physical plant
Will complete work orders using Knowcross or as assigned by the supervisor
Respond immediately to guest room maintenance requests, etc
Respond to emergencies
Perform necessary assignments to ensure guest and employee safety
Will back up loss prevention for emergency situations
Refers to blue prints and manuals
Inspects and observes equipment in operation for defects, listens for sounds to locate causes of trouble
Replaces drive belts and filters on equipment
Start devices to test their performance
Replaces washers and seals and clears clogged drains
Occasionally makes and repairs wooden structures
Changes light bulbs throughout the hotel
Repairs locks
Replace switches and receptacles
Occasionally repairs tile, concrete and sheetrock walls
Maintains shop and other work areas in a clean and organized condition
Exhibit 5 Star Standard identified within Engineering Department and in conjunction with Ojai Valley Inn & Spa standards

Qualification

Basic knowledge of electricityBasic knowledge of plumbingBasic knowledge of HVAC/RBasic knowledge of handPower toolsWork well with othersTake directionCPR/first aid qualifiedBasic knowledge of pool care1-2 years maintenance experience

Required

Basic knowledge of electricity

Preferred

1-2 years previous experience in hotel, building or commercial building maintenance
