Laboratory Director - Organoid Core
Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a highly skilled scientific professional for a Laboratory Director position in the 3D Organoid Core and Enteroid Service Center. This role ensures full regulatory compliance and efficient administrative oversight while managing laboratory operations and supervising staff.

Responsibilities
Interprets and ensures compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations, policies, and procedures for faculty and laboratory personnel
Coordinates procurement processes for laboratory equipment and supplies, managing all phases of the acquisition lifecycle
Tracks and manages orders and billing through iLABS
Develops and implements procedures for the use, maintenance, repair, and inventory of laboratory equipment
Orders and maintains inventory of supplies, reagents, and media required for organoid culture
Cleans and maintains laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance
Plans, directs, and executes complex experiments, including co-cultures of organoids with other cell types
Establishes novel organoid models derived from diseased donors and new tissue types
Performs all applications required for organoid culture, including plating, passaging, and media preparation
Oversees daily operations of the 3D Organoid Core and Enteroid Service Center, including planning activities and supervising staff
Trains and orients new personnel and ensures adherence to core protocols and safety standards
Provides technical support and services to core users, including organoid plating and maintenance
Compiles experimental data and prepares it for presentations and reports
Represents the BCM 3D Organoid Core and Enteroid Service Center at national and international scientific conferences
Maintains the 3D Organoid Core website to enhance visibility and user engagement
Manages the Core's Twitter account and monitors the Core’s email communications
Performs other job related duties as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or a related field
Five years of relevant experience
Experience managing a Core
Technical experience in Organoids
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and throughout the duration of employment
