Responsibilities
Conduct inspections of mechanical systems including HVAC, ventilation, exhaust, and related components
Verify compliance with applicable building codes, mechanical codes, and approved construction plans
Document inspection results clearly and accurately
Identify code violations and provide clear correction guidance
Communicate professionally with contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders
Maintain inspection records and reports in accordance with department standards
Stay current on code updates and regulatory changes
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred)
Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical inspections or related trade
Strong knowledge of mechanical codes (ICC, Florida Building Code – Mechanical preferred)
ICC Mechanical Inspector Certification (required)
Valid Florida driver's license
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
State of Florida Mechanical Inspector license
Background in HVAC installation, maintenance, or inspection
Experience working with local municipalities or permitting agencies
