Clinical Application Analyst III- Ambulatory

Deaconess Health System is seeking a Clinical Applications Analyst – Ambulatory to join their Digital Technology Services team. This role involves supporting, optimizing, and enhancing Epic Ambulatory applications to improve clinic operations and patient care, while collaborating with clinical and business teams.

Responsibilities

Support Epic Ambulatory applications and associated clinical workflows
Serve as escalation support for complex incidents and system issues
Translate operational needs into functional and technical solutions
Participate in system upgrades, enhancements, and new implementations
Provide training and consultation to clinical and operational teams
Promote continuous improvement of ambulatory systems and processes
Troubleshoot and resolve escalated application issues reported through approved intake processes
Configure, test, and maintain Epic Ambulatory build, including workflows, templates, reports, and tools
Collaborate with providers, clinic leadership, and DTS teams to gather requirements and design solutions
Participate in upgrades, optimizations, go-lives, and new project initiatives
Develop documentation, testing scripts, and support materials
Perform routine system maintenance and monitoring to ensure optimal performance
Coordinate integration and data exchange points between Epic and other systems as needed
Provide end-user training, education, and workflow guidance
Serve as an SME and consultant to recommend improvements that maximize system value
Follow change management and production support practices for all system updates
Support cross-functional teams during critical events or implementations

Required

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Healthcare IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Understanding of ambulatory clinic workflows and outpatient operations
Experience with system configuration, testing, and troubleshooting
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently

Preferred

3–5+ years of healthcare applications support or analyst experience
Experience supporting Epic Ambulatory or similar clinical systems strongly preferred
Epic certification or ability to obtain certification within a defined timeframe preferred
