Program Coordinator Energy & Environment
Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) is seeking a Program Coordinator Energy & Environment, focused on energy, metrics, and cost efficiency for Metro’s facilities and fleet. The role involves planning and supporting the delivery of energy efficiency investments, collaborating with stakeholders, and managing various projects to enhance transit and mobility in the National Capital Region.

Responsibilities
Coordinate tasks and deliverables across multiple projects that support Authority programs. This includes but is not limited to research, analysis, stakeholder engagement, implementation, change management, evaluation and monitoring
Develops and maintains project scopes, work plans and budgets, involving all relevant stakeholders, to ensure technical feasibility and align with goals and objectives. Tracks and reports on progress and support the management of external consultant resources
Evaluates business processes, policies, procedures, forms and templates for areas of improvement; develops and launches updates to account for energy and environment objectives
Builds and manages relationships with a broad range of stakeholders and partners at all levels of the organization to facilitate implementation of projects. Organizes, attends and participates in stakeholder meetings; responds promptly to requests for information, documents and follows-up on actions and decisions from meetings
Supports projects targeting energy efficiency and green building certifications like Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) and Envision, including management of documentation review, and spearheading opportunities to improve projects
Analyzes transportation industry trends, identifying risks and opportunities with new technologies and evolving best practices, and provide summarized information for the team
Prepares presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders, as needed, that provide clear information, visualizations and graphics communicating the regional benefits
Establishes technical requirements, business outcomes, and metrics that will help ensure successful future implementation of projects
Drives organizational change management, project innovation, and best practice adoption
Prepares and manages annual capital and operating budgets; develops, submits, and approves requisitions, invoices, initial cost estimates (ICE), scopes of work (SOW), and other procurement documents; leads compensation equity analyses for office and presents results to managements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree majoring in Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Science, Public Policy, Transportation, Urban Planning or related discipline
Coursework in energy, environment or related topics
A minimum four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in environmental policy, public administration, transportation planning, project management, business administration, or a related technical field, which must include work on energy and/or environment projects/programs
A Master's degree in urban planning, energy, environmental management, or related technical field can be counted as two (2) years toward work experience
LEED Green Associate or AP (BD+C preferred) and/or ISI Envision Certified within the first six months of hire and maintained for the duration of time in job
Preferred
Experience as a manager of professional staff
