Aircraft Mechanic I (Flightline - Upholsterer)
Lockheed Martin is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic I with expertise in aviation upholstery. The role involves modifying and refurbishing C-130 aircraft interior furnishings, performing maintenance inspections, and supporting general modification activities.

Responsibilities
Modifying and refurbishing C-130 aircraft interior furnishings
Responsibility requires intricate modification and customization of the upholstering to meet the specific and special operations mission set of the C-130 Aircraft
Responsible for all airframe unique interior configurations, modifications, and fabrication
Act as the subject matter expert for C-130 upholstering modification and fabrication
Troubleshoot, adjust, repair, and replace associated parts/components for the upholstery craft
Support general modification and maintenance activities within the modification line
Including general airframe wire routing and securing, aircraft component removal and replacement, and flight line support activities such as; servicing / towing / securing / launch and recovery / etc
Makes repairs to aircraft following orders of a higher grade worker
Assists in troubleshooting malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, hydraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems
Removes, cleans, reinstalls, or replaces defective parts, accessories, and components such as worn gaskets, couplings, and fittings, bad actuators, accumulators, gauges, sections of corroded fuel and oil lines
May supervise the jacking and towing of aircraft
Makes adjustments and setting such as cable tension and seat movement settings and adjustments
Obtains standard parts such as fuel and oil line connections and fittings, cable linkage, and spark plug cables and harnesses by referring to parts manuals and by making comparisons with samples
May perform pre-flight, thru-flight and post-flight maintenance inspections
Enter in the maintenance records description of the work performed
Service engines and aircraft components at line station making repairs, short of overhaul required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition
Perform preflight, thru-flight, and basic post-flight maintenance inspections
Perform as Refuel/Defuel, Jack and Tow Team member
Perform other miscellaneous aircraft services to include but not limited to: Lox, Hydraulic and Engine Oil, service aircraft tire and perform aircraft lubes
Proficient at all tasks required to launch and recover C-130 aircraft
Qualification
Required
Aviation Upholstery Experience
Employee must have a knowledge base and experience in general aviation maintenance practices
Ability to obtain a secret security clearance, and must have an interim secret clearance prior to start so therefore all candidates must be a US Citizen
Preferred
C-130 Upholstery Experience
Ability to utilize drawings and technical data to install aircraft parts
Ability to utilize technical data to troubleshoot and repair aircraft systems
Self-motivated and disciplined individual towards quality work
Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
