AmeriCorps Program Manager
Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County is a not-for-profit youth development organization dedicated to promoting the educational and vocational growth of youth. The AmeriCorps Program Manager will direct the delivery of the Great Futures AmeriCorps Program, responsible for recruiting, training, managing volunteers, and ensuring programmatic goals are met.

Responsibilities
Recruit, interview, and screen all potential AmeriCorps and Youth Volunteer Corps members
Recruit, interview, and screen all potential AmeriCorps and Youth Volunteer Corps in partnership with Teen Development staff
Develop, plan and implement developmentally appropriate programs as prescribed by the Bright Futures program and related agreements, to meet outcomes and performance measures outlined in each grant
Maintain records, including enrollment forms, documentation of hours of service, time sheets, payroll and scheduling and submission of reports on a timely basis
Maintain AmeriCorps and YVC member files and meet regularly with volunteers to establish and monitor program, educational, and career goals
Develop and maintain strong rapport with volunteers to address challenges and encourage program completion
Work with Club Directors to develop appropriate placements and assignments for all volunteers
Develop and deliver a comprehensive volunteer staff development plan that supports program objectives, including assisting volunteers with identifying and completing trainings related to their assignments with BGCPBC
Coordinate program planning meetings and weekly training activities
Master an array of tools, including excel, nFocus and e-Grants to manage program and participant data, and prepare necessary reports
Organize and coordinate various activities, including presentations and workshops
Ensure compliance with all federal, state and county mandates specific to the Program
Coordinating college application and enrollment support for program participants
Develop and maintain strong partnerships and working relationships with key partners
Maintain close, daily contact with volunteers, staff and supervisor to receive/provide information and discuss issues
Maintain contact and build relationships with community groups, schools external staff and volunteers, donors and others to recruit or to assist in resolving challenges
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree
Grant writing, management and reporting experience
Must pass a National Criminal History Background check - to include a drug screen, a Level II FBI background check via fingerprints, and a local background check, and their name run through the National Sex Offender database (www.nsowp.gov)
Valid Florida Driver's License with safe driving record
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and utilizing the Internet
Experience working with older youth in an after-school setting
Knowledge of youth development best practices
Understanding of public funding records management, reporting requirements, and budget practices
Strong writing, research and analytical/problem solving skills
Ability to supervise and motivate students in a fluid environment
Ability to enforce Boys & Girls Clubs rules and policies in a fair and equitable manner
Strong organizational skills
Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
High degree of independence, flexibility, initiative and commitment
Able to maintain strict confidentiality
Ability to deal effectively with a variety of people and work in a team environment
Cultural competence
Strong problem solving skills
Preferred
Master's Degree in human services or related field strongly preferred
