Instructor, Forge

Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania is a nonprofit organization dedicated to funding job training and community programs. The Instructor plays a key role in the FORGE program, designing curriculum and delivering instruction to support fathers in their reentry journey and personal growth, while addressing barriers such as limited education and digital skills.

Responsibilities

Adapt instructional approaches to meet students’ learning styles while upholding classroom and program rules and policies
Provide basic technical support and digital skills training relating to internet services, computer and device characteristics, and online services and applications via phone, virtual, and in-person instruction
Assess individual and cohort accessibility to technology and current digital skill level(s) as related to connectivity needs and internet use priorities
Consult with the team to develop participants’ educational goals and share progress notes with Service Navigators to enhance case management services
Research, outline and plan Individual Instruction Plans (IIP) and cohort lesson plans embedding departmental and contractual standards
Collaborate with reintegration department to identify educational and workforce gaps and make recommendations for program improvement
Monitor, evaluate, and record client education and workforce activities
Assist individuals in filling out applications or questionnaires used for enrollment into Goodwill’s programs or services

Required

High school diploma or equivalent AND 5+ years of required experience
Associates degree AND 3+ years of required experience, OR
Bachelors degree AND 1 years of required experience
Experience teaching, tutoring, or facilitating instruction
Database and/or case management software to track participant and program progress
Candidates are expected to provide current valid clearances (Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Fingerprints Clearance, and PATCH) prior to first day of employment
Must have valid driver's license

Preferred

Prior experience in locating community and social services for at-risk, vulnerable adult populations
HMRF programing who exemplifies potential as a future fatherhood leader
