Systems Engineer II - Avionics RMS (HYBRID)
RTX is seeking an experienced Reliability & Safety Engineer to join their team in Melbourne, Florida. The role involves performing Reliability and Safety analysis for avionics product designs, mentoring less experienced engineers, and collaborating with various teams to define system safety requirements.

Responsibilities
Perform Reliability analysis such as Reliability Predictions, Failure Modes and Effect Analysis (FMEA)
Perform safety assessment process in accordance with ARP4761 or MIL-STD-882E, including but not limited to, Functional Hazard Assessments (FHAs), Preliminary System Safety Assessments (PSSAs), System Safety Assessments (SSAs), Fault Tree Analysis (FTAs)
Support systems, hardware, and software engineering teams in defining system safety requirements during development activity
Review of design and development documentation for safety critical functions
Mentor and train less experienced RMS engineers
Accountable to team members and organizational leadership for committed work and responsibilities
Develop and maintain expertise in assigned areas (program, function, process, technology, etc)
Collaborate with internal customers, stakeholders, and organizational leaders to develop plans
Use your effective oral/written communication skills (including technical writing)
Qualification
Required
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Basic circuit analysis knowledge is required
Ability to read schematics and electronic specifications
Basic knowledge of reliability analysis techniques
Knowledge of writing technical reports
Preferred
B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering
Working knowledge of ARP4761 OR Mil-Std 882, basic knowledge of ARP4754A, DO-254, DO-178B/C, DO-297
Experience with CAFTA or similar Fault Tree analysis tools
Understanding of Project Management
