Systems Development Engineer, Controlled Working Environment, WWPS Engineering
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a top industry technical expert to grow their Controlled Working Environment (CWE) team. The Systems Development Engineer will design architectural approaches, automate, enhance, and build new functionality for a complete separated end user workspaces environment, while investigating new ways to improve operations and defining solutions to complex cloud issues.

Responsibilities
Investigating new ways to improve operations
Defining and developing new solutions to solve technically complex cloud issues for our customers
Investigating system variances about to affect customer applications before an actual outage occurs
Diving deep into new service announcements to determine unique ways to implement them to improve the effectiveness of the CWE
Managing user applications like JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, Duo, etc
Studying and learning from industry recognized Amazon distinguished engineers
Qualification
Required
2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
1+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
7+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering experience
Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
Due to federal contracts, this position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen
Preferred
Experience with PowerShell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java
Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology
