Responsibilities

Support the Branch Manager in implementing company standards, optimizing warehouse and branch operations, driving initiatives that enhance productivity and efficiency, and keeping safety a top priority in all decisions
Assist in achieving branch revenue and profitability targets by monitoring financial metrics, executing sales strategies, and identifying opportunities for sales growth
Lead, mentor, and develop branch staff, including warehouse personnel, drivers, and inside sales teams. Provide training, performance feedback, and foster a collaborative, high-performing workplace
Build and maintain strong relationships, proactively addressing inquiries and resolving issues to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention
Collaborate with the Branch Manager to develop and execute strategic plans, leveraging market and operational insights to drive branch growth and operational excellence
Generate and review branch performance reports, including financial results, staffing forecasting and efficiency, inventory levels, and customer satisfaction metrics, providing actionable insights for decision-making
Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures. Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse and branch environment

Required

Minimum of 1–2 years (or more) experience in a warehouse, distribution, or supervisory/assistant management role; prior experience in building materials, roofing, or related industry preferred
Demonstrated ability to manage teams, oversee operations, and execute processes efficiently
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with ERP or warehouse management systems preferred
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Ability to pass criminal background and pre-employment drug screening
High school diploma or equivalent required
1–2 years in a supervisory or assistant management role in warehouse/distribution; 5+ years preferred in a relevant industry
Leadership Proficiency: Ability to guide and motivate teams, manage change, and align staff to branch objectives
Financial Acumen: Competent in analyzing financial results (P&L), monitoring budgets, and optimizing branch profitability
Operational Oversight: Experienced in overseeing daily operations, process improvement, and compliance with company standards
Customer Engagement: Effective in developing strong customer relationships and ensuring high levels of satisfaction
Strategic Thinking: Capable of contributing to strategic planning and leveraging insights to drive growth and operational efficiency
Communication Proficiency: Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting, team guidance, and customer interactions
Analytical Capabilities: Ability to evaluate operational and financial data to make informed decisions and adjustments
Team Development: Skilled in mentoring and developing staff to achieve individual and organizational goals

Preferred

Experience in financial planning, budgeting, and revenue optimization
Project management skills, including prioritizing tasks and managing multiple initiatives
Leadership development experience and succession planning capabilities
Strong relationship management skills with a focus on retention and satisfaction
Knowledge of operational and warehouse safety protocols
Certifications: OSHA 30 hour, Forklift
Associate or Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain, or related field considered beneficial but not required
