Manufacturing Engineer III - Product Development
SEKISUI Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer III to join their R&D team in Renton, WA. The role involves scaling composite manufacturing processes, developing manufacturing strategies for high-volume production, and collaborating with technicians and engineers to build prototype components.

Responsibilities
Scale composites manufacturing processes to support high-volume production, ensuring consistent quality and reliability in mass-produced hardware systems
Develop and refine manufacturing strategies specifically for high-volume composite products, focusing on efficiency, cost reduction, and maintaining stringent quality standards at scale
Work with technicians and other engineers hands-on, building prototype components, with an emphasis on incorporating automation where feasible
Own a portion or all of the manufacturing value chain for a certain product or set of products
Work with Lead Tooling Engineer to develop novel tooling solutions for fabrication and assembly of structural parts
Develop process flows, breaking down large, complex composite components into a logical part flow of sub-processes
Write documentation required for successfully manufacturing at scale, such as work instructions, quality plans, inspection requirements, etc
Work with material suppliers across various disciplines (prepreg, additives, core materials, metallic manufacturing, etc.) to develop repeatable, sustained processes for quick-turn development as well as at-scale production
Qualification
Preferred
Demonstrated ability to creatively deliver elegant composite solutions in a resource-constrained environment
Demonstrated in-kind or direct team leadership skills, with backing examples
A genuine interest in manufacturing and thirst for learning
Experience in establishing qualification plans, to qualify processes and equipment to the customer specifications
Capable of designing or defining the requirements for the development of equipment, robotics, Lay-up molds, Vacuum Holding Fixtures, Shop Aids, Positioning fixtures, Go-No-Go inspection tools required for the manufacturing of new products
Understanding basic industrial engineering practices, such as, time studies, statistical analysis, ergonomic impacts, and value engineering principles
A degree in a technical field, such as engineering, mathematics, or a hard science, is preferred
10+ years of experience in composite manufacturing, preferably in the manufacturing or design of UAV components
