College Intern -Command Center and Utility Services
The Metropolitan District Commission is a non-profit municipal corporation providing water and sewerage services. They are seeking full-time college interns for their summer internship program, where interns will work in the Command Center or Utility Services department to assist with operations and learn from industry professionals.

Responsibilities
Candidates working at the Command Center, which is the point of contact for customers/personnel to report water/sewer emergencies will be responsible for working with staff to handle and route routine matters, as well as potential critical situations
Candidates working in Utility Services, where the primary responsibility of the department is permitting and inspection of all new connections to the District's sewage collection and water distribution systems, will work alongside Utility Services Technicians, Engineering Technicians, and Project Engineers to learn the functions of the department as well as assist with day-to-day operations
The intern will have the opportunity to shadow industry professionals in the field and oversee major programs such as the District's Backwater Valve Program and FOG (Fats, Oils, Greases) Program, Septic Reimbursements, and Call Before You Dig
Qualification
Required
College student currently enrolled in a BA, BS or Associate's program, majoring in business or communications
The selected intern must possess a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office
Candidate must possess strong verbal & written communication skills
Candidate should be self-motivated, well organized, responsible and have the ability to work well with others

Prior customer service experience preferred
