IT Administrative Coordinator
Opterus Research and Development designs and manufactures high-performance deployable structures and systems for space. The IT Administrative Coordinator will support IT operations, cybersecurity, and compliance in a regulated aerospace and defense environment, coordinating with the MSP/MSSP and performing various IT and security functions.

Responsibilities
Coordinate with our existing MSP/MSSP to manage approximately 50 Windows, 11 end-point devices, and one Azure server in a Microsoft GCC-High G5 enclave at the CMMC Level 2 (minimal onsite appliances; no servers)
Maintain CMMC Level 2 compliance by ensuring documentation and process accuracy, maintaining local evidence and logs, and working with the MSSP as systems and CMMC regulations change
Participate in MSSP-led cybersecurity incident response activities, including investigation, documentation, notifications, and post-incident follow-up
Support administration of ITAR-related IT controls, DIBNet access, incident reporting, and SPRS data accuracy
Prepare IT and cybersecurity status updates and supporting materials for management reviews and internal communications
Support administration of engineering and business applications (e.g., SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM Professional, SQL, cloud ERP system, engineering analysis software, test and data acquisition software, operational equipment, software development tools, and AI tools)
Maintain IT assets and peripheral inventories and support lifecycle activities such as device tracking, imaging, repair, sanitization, secure handling, and chain-of-custody documentation
Assist with IT budgeting activities, including hardware refresh planning, software renewals, and license management
Support the administration of physical security and facility access systems
Maintain IT policies, SOPs, and system documentation to ensure they remain current, accessible, and audit-ready
Coordinate with HR and Quality to maintain up-to-date employee IT and cybersecurity training
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or equivalent practical experience in lieu of a degree
3+ years of IT experience, preferably in a regulated or security-sensitive environment
Experience with Microsoft 365, GCC-High G5 applications, Azure, PowerShell Scripting, and enterprise networking and security concepts
Hands-on experience with basic networking (Ethernet cabling, managed switches, Wi-Fi access points, firewalls)
Experience or exposure to endpoint management, security tools, and RMM systems
Strong organizational skills with attention to documentation and process accuracy
US Citizen or Permanent Resident
Preferred
Foundational knowledge of Microsoft office product suite and GCC-High with G5 licensing, CMMC L2, NIST 800-171, and ITAR
Entry- to mid-level certifications (Security+, Network+, CCNA, AZ-104, MS-500, SC-200/300)
Experience supporting engineering or technical computing environments is a plus
