Quality Assurance Specialist, Principal

Responsibilities
Develops and presents quality non- conformance data and trending to executive leadership
Works with Senior Management to promote development of the quality management system and ensure integration with the integrated safety management system
Leads and drives complex, cross functional strategic improvement initiatives and the standardization of common QA/QC processes
Coaches and mentors less experienced employees on quality and lean tools
Performs benchmarking and reviews of non-employee work quality to establish baseline standards
Ensures quality team is versed in quality assurance and lean principles
Participates and represents PG&E’s quality programs in industry activities and events
Provides training and/or feedback to Inspectors related to the selection of the appropriate FDA for maintenance issues identified and required information for LC or EC notifications
Qualification
Required
High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
Relevant utility industry experience, 10 years
CA Class C License, or equivalent
30% Field - 70% Office
Ability to travel up to 50% of working time with occasional overnight stays
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management or related field or equivalent experience
3 years of quality auditing/quality inspection experience
7 years equivalent experience in electric infrastructure construction and quality
10 years Electric Journeyman utility experience
ASQ Quality Improvement Associate Certification
ASQ Quality Inspector/Auditor Certification
Six Sigma or other Lean/Quality related training
Advanced data analysis and reporting skills
Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements for inspection compliance – GO 165/95/128, ETPM
Electric Utility Experience – GO 165 Field Compliance Inspections, Maintenance & Construction, Quality Control, Quality Verification, CIRT, Asset Strategy, Standards, Work Methods and Procedures
Current or previous PG&E supervisory experience over Compliance Inspector, Linemen, QA or QC Specialist
Expert knowledge of the requirements of Transmission Preventative Maintenance Manual - ETPM
Expert level knowledge of assigned area of business including processes and procedures
Ability to manage project and other group initiatives
Highly advanced analytical, program management, and communications skills
Ability to influence others in order to achieve understanding, acceptance, and commitment to act
Field experience with electric, gas or power generation construction
Extensive knowledge and understanding of the electric asset preventative maintenance manual
Master knowledge and understanding of relevant federal, state, and local construction codes and standards and PGE construction standards, bulletins and guidance documents
