Installation Technician

OzarksGo, based in Fayetteville, Arkansas, is a telecommunications subsidiary of Ozarks Electric Cooperative, offering all-fiber gigabit internet and premium television and telephone services. The Installation Technician is responsible for installing and testing cables, supporting customer technologies, and ensuring quality control during installations.

Responsibilities

Install, terminate, and test cat 5/6 and coaxial cables
Route fiber and/or cables from the outside to the inside of a home or business
Support the customer's audio and video technologies
Use Interpersonal skills for interaction with customers for installation requirements and issue resolution
Supervise and perform quality control of internal drop contractors
Install telephone in homes and businesses and integrate into existing systems
Be able to work in inclement weather
Work with electronic maps and document and maintain records of work performed
Operate company vehicles safely
Train customers on the use of internet, telephone, and television
Preserves confidentiality of company issues when relating to staff, customers, and general public
Supports the Bylaws, guidelines, policies, and philosophies of the company at all times
Supports the Mission Statement and Core Values at all times

Required

High school diploma or GED equivalent, plus specialized schooling or combination of education and experience
One-two years in wire routing and communication with customers required
Must have experience with Cat 5/6 and coaxial cables, as well as home networking equipment
Must be able to operate all equipment normally found in an office environment
Must have valid driver's license without violation, which would prohibit insurability
Must have experience operating trenching or plowing equipment
Must be able to build drops to OzarksGo specifications and convey these specifications to drop contractors
Must have general PC abilities including Microsoft Office and tablet operating skills
Must be able to operate and navigate electronic maps
Must be able to perform all activities listed in the job description with or without reasonable accommodation
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds

Preferred

Background in home construction or remodeling is beneficial
