Responsibilities
Job shadow in various departments such as but not limited to; Production, Quality, Engineering, Programming, Assembly, Finishing and Shipping departments
Run machines and use a variety of hand tools and measuring equipment
Perform simple setups and troubleshooting (only if supervised by full-time machinist mentor)
Check parts with hard gauging, various measurement tools and CMM
Perform periodic quality checks as described in operation layouts
Package, wash, and deburr as described in operation layouts or otherwise directed by full-time machinist mentor, engineer, or supervisor
Keep work area clean and organized
Intern will be responsible for the quality of the parts that he or she produces
Op Layouts (assist with the completion of op layouts)
Other duties as assigned
Responsible to conduct yourself and ensure your subordinates (if applicable) conduct themselves in a manner consistent with company mission, values, code of ethics, policies, and other standards of conduct
Qualification
Required
High School Students 16+ years must be enrolled in CTE, Youth Apprentice or similar manufacturing program
Students must be enrolled in the Machine Tool Technology, Manufacturing or Industrial program
Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
Must be able to work in other areas on an as needed basis
Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail
