Responsibilities
Design, develop, refactor, test, and support backend applications and services for financial engineering platforms
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, including unit and integration tests
Identify and resolve defects while proactively addressing technical debt
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across application and infrastructure layers
Support infrastructure upgrades and adoption of new technologies
Contribute to thoughtful design decisions and continuous improvement of engineering practices
Qualification
Required
Strong experience building efficient batch processes for high-volume analytics and valuation requests using financial engine APIs
Solid SQL experience across modern database platforms and end-to-end project delivery
Extensive hands-on experience with Python and libraries/frameworks such as Pandas, NumPy, Gunicorn, Celery, SQLAlchemy, and Flask or FastAPI
At least 5 years of professional Python development experience, including application design, data processing, and object-oriented design patterns
Proven experience with Python concurrency and long-running batch processes backed by databases, including operational features such as cancel, restart, resume, status polling, and recovery at scale
Strong problem-solving skills, sound business judgment, and experience working in Agile development environments
Preferred
Graduate degree in Computer Science or a related field
Experience in financial accounting, fixed income, or capital markets
Experience with Temporal.io
