Sr RP ALARA Specialist

The Senior RP ALARA Specialist is responsible for leading the implementation of the ALARA program, including exposure reduction strategies and mentoring personnel in Radiation Protection standards.

Responsibilities
Preparing and implementing ALARA planning, estimating, work group involvement and procedure implementation in accordance with Constellation procedure guidance for exposure reduction
Performance of assessments, corrective actions, benchmarking, and job evaluations with regards to ALARA processes and practices. Implement fleet and industry best practices
Perform independent, specific rolls such as outage planning, modification team leads, on-line planning, or other duties integral to the Radiation Protection (RP) ALARA program
Mentor and aid in the development of other RP personnel, site personnel, and contractors to ensure that industry knowledge and Radiation Protection standards are transferred and embraced
Incorporate the fleet fundamentals into all work evolutions and actively coach and teach station personnel to maintain continual improvement
Develop and deliver oral and written communications effective for all audiences
Perform other job assignments and duties as directed by management or pursuant to company policy, including but not limited to emergency response, departmental coverage, call outs, and support of outage activities in positions outside the department
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in health physics or related science degrees (e.g. chemistry, physics, medical physics, etc.) with 4 years of experience in applied Radiation Protection OR
Current or previous Senior Reactor Operator license with 5 years of applied Radiation Protection experience OR
Associate's degree in health physics or related science degrees (e.g. chemistry, physics, medical physics, etc.) AND 6 years of experience in applied Radiation Protection OR
High school diploma/GED with 4 years as a qualified ANSI 3.1 RP Technician OR minimum of 8 years of experience in applied Radiation Protection
Maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties
Bachelor's degree in health physics or related science degrees (e.g. chemistry, physics, medical physics, etc.) with 1 year of related experience OR
Current or previous Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license with 5 years of related experience OR
Associate's degree in health physics or related science degrees (e.g. chemistry, physics, medical physics, etc.) with 3 years of related experience OR
High school diploma/GED with qualifications for ANSI 3.1 RP Technician OR 5 years of related experience
Maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties
Preferred
In depth knowledge of plant systems and operations
Successful completion of National Registry Radiation Protection Technicians (NRRPT) or Certified Health Physicist (CHP) certification
