Health Promotion Opioid Program Coordinator

The Health Promotion Opioid Program Coordinator will manage the Opioid Settlement Funding, coordinate community outreach, and evaluate strategies to enhance opioid prevention efforts.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and facilitate opioid-related discussions through the Opioid Prevention Team and community outreach, leading activities to increase collaboration and communication across key stakeholders
Monitor, evaluate, and update the county’s Opioid Strategic Plan, including performance measures and goals of prevention activities
Manage Pender County’s Opioid Settlement funding, including planning, reporting, and tracking budgets, and ensuring requirements are met
Adopt strategies to effectively engage individuals with lived experience as active prevention team members
Increase community awareness of this work through the execution of a communications strategy that incorporates website, social media, participation in community outreach events and public presentations including to the board of elected officials
Create and maintain an Opioid Prevention Data Dashboard for the county that includes overdose data and partnership outcomes
Maintain regular communication with key stakeholders
Research, identify and oversee implementation of evidence-based overdose prevention and harm reduction strategies
Participate in community events
Support collaborative efforts to increase access to treatment
Engage with state and federally funded programs and resources to align and strengthen the county’s overdose response strategies
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

Strong understanding of opioid overdose prevention and treatment strategies, including harm reduction
Skilled in strategic planning and systems thinking
Skilled in partnership and coalition building
Knowledge and skill in data analysis and reporting
Knowledge of budget management
Knowledge of program evaluation processes
Knowledge of computers and computer software
Ability to work independently
Ability to set priorities and manage timelines
Ability to adapt to change
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with county officials, peers, and general public
General knowledge of educational theories and techniques
Knowledge of the methods and techniques of disseminating health information to achieve maximum effectiveness on the public, facilities, and media
Ability to present ideas effectively, both orally and in writing
Graduation from a four-year college or university and three years of experience in public health, social work, opioid overdose prevention and treatment; or a combination of education and experience
Must possess a valid North Carolina Drivers License
Good physical health and stamina is needed
Some bending, lifting, stooping, and driving are required
