Responsibilities
Perform inspections of purchased parts, subassemblies or finished company products according to documented inspection criteria using standard physical, mechanical and/or electrical measurements
Rework or reject subassemblies or finished products as required
Conduct and document process and system audits using and maintaining written procedures as audit standards
Accurately document the results of the inspections and testing
Maintain all controlled document files and test records in a timely and accurate manner
Help coordinate calibration of all metrology equipment
Monitor critical equipment and instrumentation to ensure proper operation and calibration
Participate in the construction and/or revision of SOP’s for the inspection function
Initiate the writing and updating of inspection procedures, protocol and checklists
Evaluate problems and make initial recommendations for possible corrective action to Manager
Collaborate with Production Management to communicate and address quality concerns, issues, or emerging trends
Perform reviews of historical records and other documentation for compliance to established procedures and documentation practices
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School diploma required; Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent in Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field strongly preferred
At least one year of quality experience within production environment and/or manufacturing industry strongly preferred
Prior Mechanical Inspection and ISO Experience preferred
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong mechanical aptitude and arithmetic skills are required
Working knowledge of measurement instruments (calipers, micrometers, optical instruments/tools and surface plate inspection) required
Ability to work with little supervision and in various inspection areas with willingness to perform other tasks as needed
Detail-oriented mindset with experience in data entry and computer database skills required
Understanding of safety protocols and requirements
Preferred
Knowledge of various coatings, heat treat operations, NDT, castings, surface finishes desired
