Interactive Experiences Intern - Summer 2026

The Children's Museum of Indianapolis is dedicated to creating engaging experiences for children and families. The Interactive Experiences Intern will develop Unity-based digital interactives for Museum exhibits, collaborating with designers and developers to create accessible and engaging experiences.

Responsibilities

Assist in the development of interactive digital experiences using Unity
Program interactive functionality and gameplay logic using C#
Translate interactive design concepts, scripts, and requirements into functional Unity prototypes and applications with guidance from the Interactive Technology Designer or Developer
Integrate and organize digital assets such as graphics, animations, audio, and UI elements
Participate in prototyping new interactive concepts for potential future exhibits
Test, debug, and refine interactive features to ensure usability, stability, and performance

Required

Demonstrated experience working in Unity, including the ability to provide a portfolio of projects (coursework, personal projects, or prior work)
Experience programming with C#, including scripting and debugging
Familiarity with integrating digital assets into Unity projects
Understanding of basic game design principles
Ability to communicate effectively across multiple disciplines
Attention to detail and willingness to iterate based on feedback
Interest in creating fun, accessible, and engaging digital experiences for children
Must be able to sit and work at a computer for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation
Must be able to view, create, and edit visual and written materials, with or without reasonable accommodation
Must be able to communicate effectively with team members, with or without reasonable accommodation
Must be able to use standard computer and office equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation

Preferred

Junior or senior standing preferred; coursework in Game Development, Computer Science, or a related field
