Intern, Technical Undergraduate Summer - Impact Environments, Onsite

They are seeking a Technical Undergraduate Intern for the summer of 2026 to perform design activities for environmental testing and assist in field activities and testing support at various facilities.

Responsibilities

Receive training and guidance from team members, including informal and formal training enabling a safe and productive work environment
Perform design activities for environmental testing
Assist in field activities for testing
Assist our team in supporting test engineers and testing activities at our Drop Tower/Water Impact Complex, Mechanical Shock Facility, Mobile Guns Complex, Arming & Firing team, and any other VQSEC facility

Required

Currently attending and enrolled full time in the spring term immediately preceding the internship (or scheduled to graduate in the spring) in an accredited related undergraduate program
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer
U.S. citizens, legal permanent residents, asylees or refugees in the U.S

Preferred

Currently seeking a STEM or Mechanical Engineering degree
Certificates and experience in Solidworks/Creo CAD tools
Experience with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
Experience conducting research utilizing the web
Attention to detail
Ability to work in a team environment
Excellent communication skills and the ability to present technical ideas in oral and written form
Strong organizational and writing skills
