Engineering/Programming Manager
Precinmac is a leading supplier of mission-critical, precision machined components used in the aerospace and defense, semiconductor, and automation equipment sectors. The Engineering/Programming Manager oversees the engineering and programming teams, ensuring successful execution of New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives while maintaining margin adherence, focusing on cost estimation, manufacturing process development, and CNC programming.

Responsibilities
Analyze engineering drawings, BOMs, technical data, and quote requests to identify strategic business opportunities
Follow company standards and collaborate with the sales team to ensure the production of accurate and timely quotes that meet company growth strategies
Track variances between estimated and actual costs, evaluating the accuracy of cost estimation parameters
Head the technical NPI process to ensure that new parts are delivered to the shop floor on time and meet company standards
Collaborate with engineers and programmers to develop optimized manufacturing processes and CNC programs
Assist in fixture design development to improve manufacturing efficiency
Partner with operations and quality teams to ensure seamless new product transitions into production
Maintain the engineering and programming sections with the capacity, load, and resource allocation
Conduct root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for process-related concerns
Support quality inspectors by providing guidance on customer specifications and requirements
Analyze failure trends, implement corrective and preventive actions, and respond to customer complaints effectively. Maintain customer-specific documentation and actively participate in customer visits and audits
Present strategic process improvements to senior management, focusing on efficiency and continuous improvement
Make recommendations for manufacturing process enhancements to optimize quality and cost-effectiveness
Works with CapEx team for future improvements and needs based upon customer demand and replacing older outdated equipment. (Machine selections / Floor layouts)
Communicate effectively with all levels of management to ensure alignment with operational standards and company policies
Position requires flexibility in extended hours to support business objectives
Qualification
Required
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead and collaborate effectively
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering documentation
Proficiency in Windows-based systems and Microsoft Office Suite
Proficiency in CAD software
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong business acumen, with the ability to analyze, prioritize, and execute solutions strategically
Highly organized, with exceptional time management skills
Comprehensive knowledge of the machining industry, including an understanding of customer-specific process specifications (ASTM, SAE, ISO, MIL-Standards)
Minimum of 10 years of experience in the machining industry
At least five years of experience in a management role
Completion of a two-year college or technical school program required
