Calibration Technician

The Calibration Technician is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of manufacturing operations by managing the calibration of inspection, measurement, and test equipment, maintaining compliance with standards, and acting as a technical resource for the team.

Responsibilities
Perform calibration and testing on a wide variety of manufacturing and process control equipment
Manage the calibration database to schedule and track thousands of assets
Manage the relationship with third-party calibration labs for specialized off-site testing
Maintain the calibration system with unbroken traceability to NIST standards
Issue Out of Tolerance notifications and work with Quality/Engineering to determine if the failed tool impacted any product quality
Act as the subject matter expert for measurement
Assist engineers in selecting the right gauges for new products, help troubleshoot measurement discrepancies, and provide training to other technicians on proper gauge handling
Maintain an inventory of spare parts and coordinate repairs for broken equipment
Qualification
Required
Must be able to pass a comprehensive criminal background check and drug screening
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum (due to ITAR requirements)
3+ years of experience in Metrology or Calibration
Experience with PMEL (Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory) training in the military is a significant plus
Strong understanding of Metrology principles, NIST traceability, and calibration standards (ANSI/NCSL Z540, ISO 17025)
Demonstrated ability to calibrate and troubleshoot varied equipment types (Electronics, Dimensional, Pressure, and Temperature)
Superior attention to detail
Associate's degree in a technical field (Electronics, Engineering Technology) or equivalent professional experience
Proficiency with Calibration Management Software (CMS) databases and Microsoft Office
