Training & Professional Development Intern - Summer 2026

The Children's Museum of Indianapolis is dedicated to supporting the staff who serve its constituents, and they are seeking a Training and Professional Development Intern. This role involves supporting various initiatives to enhance learning and development opportunities for Museum staff, including updating standard operating procedures and assisting with training logistics.

Responsibilities

Review previous annual training survey data and apply findings to current Training and Professional Development projects
Write, update, and organize standard operating procedures (SOPs) for internal exhibit training, external trainer-led training, and the use of the Learning Management System (LMS)
Collaborate with the Core Planning Team to plan logistics and finalize an itinerary for an internal TCM conference
Support additional Training and Professional Development initiatives as needed

Qualification

Microsoft 365Learning Management SystemResearch skillsProject planningInterpersonal skills

Required

Sophomore, junior, or senior at the college level
Self-motivated and have a demonstrated ability to work independently
Good interpersonal skills and a willingness to meet with and gather information from staff outside of the Human Resources department
Proficient use of Microsoft 365, along with a high level of comfort in using technology and social media to conduct research
Must be able to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time, with or without reasonable accommodation
Must be able to read, write, and edit documents and reports, with or without reasonable accommodation
Must be able to communicate effectively with staff through written and verbal communication, with or without reasonable accommodation
Must be able to use standard office equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation

Preferred

Experience using a learning management system is preferred, but not required
