ELECTRIC GENERATION SYSTEM SPECIALIST III

They are seeking an Electric Generation System Specialist III to supervise a multi-disciplinary team, provide technical oversight, and offer expert guidance on compliance strategies and policy development related to California's Building Energy Efficiency Standards.

Responsibilities
Serve as the first-level supervisor and perform a variety of supervisory tasks, program evaluation, budgeting, implementation planning, policy analyses, and formulation activities
Lead, supervise, and provide technical oversight to a multi-disciplinary professional team of subject matter experts working on a variety of technical, analytical, and outreach tasks related to compliance with and enforcement of California’s Building Energy Efficiency Standards
Provide expert technical and programmatic guidance to the Director, Executive Leadership, and Commissioners on complex issues within the unit’s portfolio including compliance strategies, emerging technologies, and policy development
Represent and support the California Energy Commission in meetings, briefings, conferences, and workshops, engaging other agencies, the Legislature, companies, research organizations, communities, and other stakeholders

Under the general direction of the Director of the Office of Compliance Assistance and Enforcement (OCAE), the Electric Generation System Specialist III (EGSS III) serves as the first-level supervisor and performs a variety of supervisory tasks, program evaluation, budgeting, implementation planning, policy analyses, and formulation activities, as well as technical review and feedback to staff on various work products
The Supervisor leads, supervises, and provides technical oversight to a multi-disciplinary professional team of subject matter experts working on a variety of technical, analytical, and outreach tasks related to compliance with and enforcement of California's Building Energy Efficiency Standards, Title 24, Part 6 (Building Energy Code) and Title 20, Building Benchmarking Requirements (Benchmarking)
The Supervisor also provides expert technical and programmatic guidance to the Director, Executive Leadership, and Commissioners on complex issues within the unit's portfolio including compliance strategies, emerging technologies, and policy development
The incumbent represents and supports the California Energy Commission (CEC) in meetings, briefings, conferences, and workshops, engaging other agencies, the Legislature, companies, research organizations, communities, and other stakeholders
