Software Engineer
Aquila Technology is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer with extensive experience in software design, development, integration, testing, and analysis to support the development of network protocols for tactical systems. The role involves designing, developing, integrating, and testing software solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software.

Responsibilities
Design, develop, integrate, and test software solutions for tactical network protocols
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements and deliver high-quality software
Utilize C, C++ and Python as primary development languages, with the ability to quickly adapt to other scripting languages as needed
Apply expertise in IP routing protocols, multicast, and socket programming to develop robust solutions
Work in a native Linux environment, including Linux kernel networking, OS networking configuration, and Linux Containers (e.g., Docker, CORE)
Proactively engage with team members to understand and resolve challenges and make collaborative decisions
Qualification
Required
Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance- Must be US Citizen
2 years – Networking architectures and protocols
2 years – IP Routing Protocols
2 years – Linux Kernel Networking
2 years – Network Protocol Design
2 years – Software development of IP routing protocols (multicast, socket programming, etc.)
2 years – Development experience on a Linux platform
2 years – Programming Languages (e.g., Perl, Python, C/C++)
Preferred
Digital and Wireless Radio/Communications Technology
Military/DoD Wireless Communications
Network modeling and emulation using Linux Containers (Docker, CORE)
Network Performance Monitoring
Experience in network modeling, emulation, and protocol design
Proficiency in network performance monitoring and optimization
Familiarity with radio communications concepts, including software-defined radios, MAC protocols, physical layer, and RF systems
Experience in military or DoD wireless communications systems
