Youth Activities Director
Grand Traverse Bay YMCA is dedicated to strengthening communities through its core values. The Youth Activities Director is responsible for overseeing the growth and success of youth programming, ensuring participant safety, and leading program staff while fostering a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities
Oversee all Youth Activities programming, including Summer Day Camp, Short Sports, Birthday Parties, School’s Out, and other non-athletic youth offerings
Develop, implement, and promote new youth programming opportunities based on community needs
Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate all youth program staff
Ensure compliance with State of Michigan camp and child care licensing requirements
Provide fiscal oversight to ensure budgets are met or exceeded
Evaluate program quality and participant experience
Develop and enforce safety policies and procedures
Maintain clear communication with staff, participants, and families
Secure staff coverage to maintain safe ratios
Collaborate with leadership staff across departments
Partner with Marketing to promote programs
Participate in Director-on-Duty rotations and leadership responsibilities
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Must be 21 years of age or older
Minimum of two years supervisory experience
Minimum of two years youth program experience
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Current certification in CPR and AED; ability to complete required trainings in Child Abuse Prevention and Blood Borne Pathogens
Preferred
Camp and Child Care licensing experience preferred
