Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Surgery – Cardiac Surgeon

Responsibilities

Provide exemplary patient care in Cardiothoracic Surgery
Develop advanced skills in robotic and minimally invasive coronary, valve, and aortic surgery
Participate in the education of surgery residents and medical students
Contribute to the Department’s residency training and educational programs
Build a translational research program
Expand minimally invasive approaches such as robotic or MICS-CABG and valve repair

Required

Candidates must be board eligible/board certified
Candidates must have completed a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at the time of hire
Candidates should have a focus and experience in the full spectrum of adult cardiac surgery
Candidates must have recognized skills in the education of surgery residents and medical students
Candidates will be expected to be active participants in the Department's residency training and educational programs
The selected candidate must be eligible for appointment at the VA
Curriculum Vitae - CV must clearly list current and/or pending qualifications (e.g. board eligibility/certification, medical licensure, etc.)

Preferred

Experience in all-arterial coronary revascularization, including bilateral mammary arterial grafting
Commitment to expanding minimally invasive approaches such as robotic or MICS-CABG, valve repair
Interest in complex aortic procedures including the Ross operation and valve sparing root replacement
Strong interest in building a translational research program
