Responsibilities
Define the long-term goal and roadmap for Google Distributed Cloud, aligning technical strategy with broader organizational goals
Own the architectural evolution of critical storage services, balancing immediate feature delivery with long-term scalability, performance, and reliability
Lead the ideation and implementation of features while influencing industry standards and best practices
Ensure system health by enforcing rigorous coding standards, monitoring Service Level Objective, Service Level Agreement (SLOs/SLAs) and proactively solving large-scale performance bottlenecks
Foster an engineering environment through direct mentorship of executive talent and modeling core organizational values
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
8 years of experience programming in C++
5 years of experience testing, and launching software products
5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture
3 years of experience with software design and architecture
Preferred
Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction
Experience with Kubernetes or container orchestration frameworks
Experience managing storage systems
Experience in Go programming
