The role involves installing and managing cabling infrastructure while working alongside experienced technicians to learn essential skills in telecommunications.
Information Technology
Responsibilities
Install cable trays, pathways, and supporting infrastructure
Pull Cat5/Cat6 cable and fiber throughout the data center
Drop cable using fish tape and route through designated pathways
Perform pre‑termination tasks: dressing, organizing, forming, and labeling cables
Suspend and support cables using trays, J‑hooks, D‑rings, bridal rings, and trapeze hangers
Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cabling
Perform fire‑stopping procedures and install sleeves for penetrations
Assist with learning cable terminations and low‑voltage device installs
Build and install server racks and equipment frames
Follow construction drawings and prints to complete work accurately
Complete necessary paperwork, documentation, and material tracking
Follow all safety requirements on an active construction site
Support additional duties as assigned by the project team
Qualification
Required
Any telecom, low‑voltage, or cabling experience (tray installs, pulling cable/fiber, punchdowns, terminations)
Experience working with hand tools in a construction or technical environment
Ability to follow blueprints, diagrams, and build instructions
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills
Comfort working on ladders and at heights
Dependability, teamwork, and the ability to adapt to evolving project needs
Preferred
Prior structured cabling experience
Exposure to fiber or copper terminations
Experience in large construction environments
