Design Engineer

Responsibilities
Lead the development and documentation of electronic and electrical system requirements for complex projects, ensuring alignment with customer needs and project goals
Translate complex requirements into comprehensive system architectures, hardware, and software designs, and interface specifications
Oversee testing and validation activities to verify system functionality and operational effectiveness, including hardware-in-the-loop simulations
Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams and manage critical supplier performance to ensure system integration, compliance, and quality standards are met
Develop and implement program test strategies, conduct independent reviews, and report findings to program leadership for continuous improvement
Provide ongoing support for fielded hardware and software throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring operational readiness and addressing technical issues
Conduct research into emerging technologies and evaluate their potential application to enhance product capabilities and performance
Make strategic recommendations on technology investments, process improvements, and design enhancements to optimize system performance
Serve as a subject matter expert in process development, physical and functional integration, and resolving supplier technical issues
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or an equivalent qualification related to the work
A minimum of 14+ years of relevant work experience demonstrating extensive expertise in system design, analysis, and development
U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance are mandatory
Preferred
Familiarity with open mission systems, model-based system engineering, and security standards
Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing, cryptographic security, high-speed digital signals, VPX architectures, and embedded computing
