They are seeking a Systems Administrator who will take ownership of the server infrastructure, ensuring health, security, and scalability while supporting a remote-first team working on high-profile productions.

Responsibilities
Infrastructure Management: Own the lifecycle of our servers (Windows/Linux) and storage solutions (NAS/SAN)
Directory Services: Manage Active Directory (AD) environments, including user permissions, Group Policy (GPO), and identity management
Hardware & Software Troubleshooting: Perform deep-dive diagnostics on everything from high-end GPU workstations to network switches and remote-access hardware
Network & Security: Maintain VPNs, firewalls, and access controls. Lead the charge on security hardening to meet industry standards (e.g., TPN)
License & App Support: Manage RLM/Foundry license servers and ensure essential VFX software is patched and stable. Manage all aspects of software license installations
Performance Monitoring: Proactively monitor system health to kill bottlenecks before they hit an artist’s deadline
Backups & Disaster Recovery: Manage backup systems and recovery strategies
Documentation: Maintain a clear "source of truth" for hardware inventory, network maps, and SOPs
Qualification
Required
3+ years of Systems Administration experience, preferably in high-bandwidth environments (VFX, animation, post-production, or DevOps)
Expert-level knowledge of Active Directory, Windows Server, and Linux (CentOS/Rocky or Ubuntu)
Proven experience building and troubleshooting high-performance hardware (GPUs, CPUs, RAM, advanced cooling)
Strong understanding of 10Gb/40Gb networking, VLANs, and secure remote-access workflows (Teradici/PCoIP a plus)
Understanding of LAN/WAN configuration and concepts
Root-cause mindset: you document fixes, automate prevention, and avoid band-aid solutions
Experience in a VFX, animation, or creative production environment is a strong plus
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
