Payroll Lead
Jones & Company CPAs is a trusted, relationship-driven CPA firm seeking an experienced Payroll Lead to manage and process outsourced payroll services for their client base. The role focuses on hands-on payroll execution, client support, and service delivery, while also providing opportunities to enhance payroll offerings within the firm.

Responsibilities
Process accurate, timely, and compliant payrolls for multiple client organizations
Serve as the primary payroll point of contact for assigned clients
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
Manage payroll cycles, filings, adjustments, and year-end processes (W-2s, 1099s, etc.)
Support client onboarding, payroll setup, and system transitions
Troubleshoot payroll issues and provide clear guidance to clients
Collaborate with internal accounting staff to ensure payroll data aligns with client needs
Assist firm leadership with improving payroll processes and supporting payroll service growth
Maintain strong relationships with payroll platform providers (ADP experience preferred)
Qualification
Required
5+ years of payroll experience ideally in a multi-client or service-based environment
Strong working knowledge of payroll processing, payroll tax compliance, and wage & hour rules
Experience processing payrolls for small to mid-sized businesses
Comfort working directly with clients and answering payroll-related questions
Experience with payroll platforms (ADP strongly preferred)
Ability to manage multiple payrolls and deadlines with accuracy and professionalism
Preferred
CPP certification is a plus, but not required
ADP experience preferred
