Development Director
The American Heart Association is dedicated to combating cardiovascular disease and improving health outcomes. They are seeking a Development Director to drive new business growth and corporate engagement in the Dallas market, focusing on the Heart Walk and CycleNation campaigns.

Responsibilities
Lead strategic outreach efforts to cultivate new business relationships across Dallas for the Heart Walk and CycleNation campaigns
Research, vet, and identify high-value prospects, including C-suite executives and primary decision-makers
Build and maintain a pipeline of 160 new company prospects (4:1 pipeline ratio) using sources such as the Fortune 1000 list, lapsing companies, and top employers
Recruit a minimum of 40 companies to participate in Heart Walk or CycleNation, each with:
A minimum fundraising goal of $15,000
A minimum sponsorship commitment of $10,000
Maintain accurate pipeline updates, action logs, and communication history in Salesforce
Collaborate with the Actives Team to plan and host the Executive Recruitment Event, identifying top prospects and coordinating volunteer support for outreach and table hosting
Upon company commitment, coordinate with the Actives Team to engage the assigned “Farmer” for the goal‑setting meeting and transition of account management responsibilities
Collaborate with “Farmer” on ELT impact plans and outreach to prospects
Drive growth by advancing 9% of “C” tier companies into higher‑performing “A” or “B” tiers, ensuring alignment with national best‑practice ratios
Prepare and maintain fundraising materials and presentations, as well as event collateral and marketing material
Manage schedules, coordinate meetings, and ensure deadlines are met
Perform administrative duties as needed, including developing cultivation strategies to support acquisition and retention of key donors and corporate partners
Create and run reports from internal databases and systems. Ensure that outreach targets are met and that weekly reports are timely, clear, and effective in meeting leadership needs for outreach reporting. Ensure accuracy and adherence to the Association's latest policies and practices regarding fiscal and event financials
Qualification
Required
3 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or other related experience
University/College degree or equivalent experience
Ability to travel approximately 75% and some overnight trips as needed; requires access to reliable transportation at all times on an immediate basis
Ability to lift and/or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting and/or moving
Must have at least basic knowledge and skill/proficiency with Microsoft Office
Preferred
Experience managing and cultivating high-level leaders at the C-Suite level
Knowledge of corporate and community networks
