ELECTRICAL ENGINEER IV (EN-24) [2 vacancies]
The City and County of Honolulu is seeking experienced, licensed Electrical Engineers to perform complex professional work reviewing and approving electrical designs for the City's infrastructure projects. The role involves reviewing electrical plans and specifications for compliance, conducting studies of electrical systems, and coordinating with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Review electrical plans and specifications for design and code compliance
Approve or reject plans and specifications requiring professional judgment and interpretation
Conduct field and office studies of electrical systems
Prepare and review complex contracts and technical specifications
Coordinate with engineers, architects, contractors and City staff
Qualification
Required
At time of application, you must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment
Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four year college or university with a bachelor's degree in an engineering specialty
Three years of non-registered professional electrical engineering experience
Possession of an appropriate valid driver's license, as required
Possession of a valid license as a professional Electrical Engineer in the State of Hawaii
Preferred
Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering principles and complex system design
Ability to independently review, analyze, and approve electrical plans and specifications
Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code and its application to real-world projects
Skill in evaluating complex electrical systems, identifying issues, and recommending solutions
Ability to clearly communicate technical decisions and work collaboratively with diverse teams
