Imaging Assistant

Responsibilities
Assists the technologist by escorting patients and assisting in their care
Navigates successfully through all computer systems to obtain necessary information
Observes patients to ensure safety and comfort during their stay in the imaging department
Transports supplies, equipment, instruments, charts, records, x-rays, and reports for the department
Maintains adequate supplies in exam rooms, handling of oxygen tanks, developing and copying films
Advocates accomplishment of team goals and objectives by promoting a balanced workload and maintains a positive work environment
Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style
Performs other related duties as required
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Certification in Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association within 6 months of employment
Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally
Knowledge of radiology procedures and technical language
Ability to travel throughout and between facilities
Ability to work flexible schedule (nights, evenings, weekends, holidays, on-call, etc.)
Preferred
Work experience in an acute care setting or operating room environment
