Sr. Specialist Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Specialist in Network Systems Engineering to join our team, responsible for supporting the design, development, integration, and troubleshooting of complex network systems used in ground and airborne communication platforms.

Responsibilities
The Senior Specialist, Network Systems Engineering will be responsible for assisting in the design and development of physical and logical network architectures that incorporate voice, video, and data capabilities across multiple security domains
Key duties include maintaining LAN and WAN networks connecting airborne and ground systems via terrestrial and Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) circuits
The role involves translating customer needs into system-level requirements, performing traceability, and conducting trade studies to evaluate and select optimal solutions
The candidate will write subsystem specifications, review design diagrams, and ensure that all details align with system requirements
Developing and executing comprehensive network test procedures to verify performance and capabilities is essential, along with preparing technical presentations for diverse audiences
Collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams to design secure, reliable networks and integrating these designs within MILSTD-based development environments is a core aspect of the role
Additionally, the position requires evaluating alternative solutions, troubleshooting network issues, and supporting certification processes to achieve system Authorization to Operate (ATO)
Qualification
Required
Candidates must be U.S. citizens eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance
A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of four years of relevant experience is required; a graduate degree with at least two years of experience is preferred
Alternatively, candidates with a minimum of eight years of related experience without a degree will also be considered
A current Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification or equivalent experience is essential
Candidates should demonstrate intermediate knowledge of LAN/WAN design, routing protocols such as RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, and experience with security frameworks like NIST
Strong communication skills, experience in system testing and integration, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are vital
Preferred
A graduate degree with at least two years of experience is preferred
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification
Experience with Kubernetes
Experience with SATCOM protocols
Experience with HAIPE devices
Experience with RedHat Linux
Familiarity with the Assessment and Authorization process for government systems
