Responsibilities
Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review and participate in the work of staff responsible for purchasing, receiving and issuing automotive shop tools, parts and related equipment
Establish schedules and methods for providing parts services; identify resource needs; review needs with appropriate management staff; allocate resources accordingly
Participate in the development of policies and procedures; monitor work activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures; make recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards and procedures
Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives; implement approved policies and procedures
Perform the more technical and complex tasks of the work unit including salvaging all trade-in vehicles or equipment
Maintain accurate and complete records of all parts purchasing, inventory and issuing activities
Participate in the selection of parts staff; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline procedures
Participate in the preparation and administration of the assigned budget; submit budget recommendations; monitor expenditures
Prepare analytical and statistical reports on operations and activities
Maintain fuel ordering/deliveries and three separate fuel stations
Maintain accurate record keeping for fuel station inspections daily, monthly and annually
Conduct special studies of operational methods and requirements regarding parts purchasing and issuance
Perform related duties and responsibilities as required
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university or a two (2) year technical certificate in automotive repair or business
Four (4) years of automotive repair or parts issuing experience
One (1) year of supervisory or lead experience
