Junior Safety Auditor
The City of New York is seeking a Junior Safety Auditor for the Department of Design and Construction, Division of Safety and Site Support. The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing safety-related construction programs, including reviewing site safety plans and conducting safety audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities
Responsible for all aspects of DDC’s safety-related construction programs, including review of site safety plans (SSP) for capital construction projects
Enforcement of DDC construction safety policies and procedures, and local, state, and federal codes, including but not limited to OSHA, DOT, DOB and MUTCD
Maintaining SSP reviews related data
Preparing weekly and monthly reports
Conducting safety audits and inspections of project construction sites to identify unsafe work conditions that could affect workers or public
Ensuring implementation of corrective actions
Participating in training programs
Preparing and issuing electronic audit reports documenting field findings for capital construction projects
Managing safety-related electronic records
Ensuring compliance with the applicable safety regulations
When required, attending construction meetings
Participating in field emergency response and accident investigations
Effectively communicating, presenting information, and responding to questions from project staff, consultant firms, and contractors
Qualification
Required
A baccalaureate degree in civil engineering from an accredited college
Authorization to work in the United States is required for this position
Preferred
Excellent verbal, written, and computer skills
Construction-related experience working knowledge of safety requirements (OSHA, DOB, DEP, FDNY) and safety auditing
OSHA Construction Industry 30-Hour certification is a plus
Motor vehicle driver license valid in the State of New York and be comfortable driving in all 5-boroughs of NYC
