Inspector
The City of New York is seeking Inspectors to join their Department of Design & Construction, specifically in the Division of Infrastructure. The successful candidates will conduct technical inspections of construction, repair, and maintenance projects involving roadways, sewers, pavements, and sidewalks.

Conduct technical inspections of construction, repair, and maintenance projects
Assessing the grading, paving, and repaving of streets
Connections to house sewers
Retaining walls
Maintenance of water, sewer, and utility manholes
Qualification
Required
Only candidates who are permanent in the Assistant Civil Engineer title or those who are reachable on the Open Competitive lists (exam #1101 or exam #5015) may apply
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in civil engineering and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in civil engineering work; or
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and a Master's degree from an accredited college in civil engineering
Authorization to work in the United States is required for this position
Valid driver's license (required)
Preferred
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
Construction knowledge relevant to infrastructure work (i.e., roadway, sewer, and/or water main)
Familiarity with NYC DOT, NYS DOT, NYC DEP specifications, MUTCD, and AASHTO standards
Comprehensive understanding of the NYC infrastructure system and current engineering practices
Proficiency in Primavera P6 scheduling and Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) credential (preferred)
Personal vehicle (preferred)
