Responsibilities

Lead activities to develop, document, and maintain software architecture, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for complex software systems
Assist in developing and maintaining the Communications roadmap and vision, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
Develop and implement containerized software architectures across various hardware types and integrate open architecture constructs such as Open Mission Systems (OMS) and Open Communication Standard (OCS)
Define system boundaries, requirements, and service contracts for OMS services, ensuring proper isolation and interoperability
Lead the development of code, integration of software components, and oversee verification plans and test procedures
Provide technical leadership, manage software supplier activities, and ensure compliance with safety standards and certification requirements
Plan and execute research and development projects, track team performance, and mentor junior staff to foster continuous improvement

Required

A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in embedded software architecture, development, and design
At least 2 years of experience leading software projects or technical teams
A strong background in programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Python, Java, or Ada
Security clearance eligibility, specifically an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance

Preferred

A Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science from an accredited institution
Experience with distributed and containerized software architecture
Developing on Linux and Windows platforms
Familiarity with open architecture standards like OMS
Experience working in Agile environments
Using tools such as Jira
Knowledge of DevSecOps practices
