Responsibilities

Develop and review schematics, layouts, and technical documentation
Support PCB design, bring-up, testing, and validation
Troubleshoot electrical and system-level issues
Support integration with power electronics, embedded, and mechanical systems
Contribute to technical reports, proposals, and sponsor deliverables

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field
4-7+ years of electrical engineering experience
Demonstrated experience in PCB design for power converters
Hands-on laboratory testing of systems above 20 kW and 1,000 V
Application of modern power-electronics devices and topologies
Design and analyze electrical circuits and subsystems
Develop and review schematics, layouts, and technical documentation
Support PCB design, bring-up, testing, and validation
Troubleshoot electrical and system-level issues
Support integration with power electronics, embedded, and mechanical systems
Contribute to technical reports, proposals, and sponsor deliverables
Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink, LTSpice, PLECS, and ANSYS

Preferred

Experience with PCB design for power converters (AC/DC, DC/DC)
Testing experience with high power systems, including testing documentation/procedures and safety standards
Experience with high power (above 20 kW) and high voltage (+1000V)
Experience with some of the following identified topologies: DAB, DABSRC, NPC rectifiers, 3-level and multi-port converters
Experience with wide-band gap devices (GaN, SiC) and gate drive
Knowledge with software packages MATLAB SimuLink, LTSpice, PLECS, and ANSYS
Master's Degree preferred
PE Certification
Recognized advanced credentials in electrical or power systems engineering
EMI/EMC knowledge and design considerations
Controls for power electronics is desired (digital, current and voltage modes, frequency modulation, micro-controllers and FPGA)
Experience with conventional magnetics (inductors, transformers)
Experience with solid state transformer technology or wireless power transfer systems
