Systems Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer-Systems to join our Air Proprietary 2 Mission Systems team, where you will lead software development efforts for mission-critical systems focused on Sensor Fusion and Combat Identification.

Responsibilities
Leading activities to develop, document, and maintain system architecture, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software systems
Assisting in developing and maintaining the Battlespace Picture roadmap and vision, ensuring alignment with strategic goals
Developing and implementing containerized software architectures across multiple hardware types, and integrating open architecture constructs such as OMS and OCS
Defining boundaries for OMS subsystems, requirements, and service contracts, ensuring scalable and modular solutions
Leading the development of code, integrating complex software components, and overseeing verification plans and testing procedures are critical to ensuring software meets all specifications
Providing technical leadership across projects, managing software supplier activities, and tracking performance metrics to ensure quality and conformance
Mentoring junior engineers, working across diverse teams, and supporting agile methodologies using tools like Jira
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, computer science, or related fields from an accredited institution
Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in embedded software architecture, development, and design
At least 2 years of experience leading technical teams or projects
Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Python, Java, or Ada
Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance
U.S. persons as defined by export control regulations
Preferred
Hands-on experience with distributed and containerized software architectures
Linux and Windows platforms
Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering tools like MSOSA
Knowledge of open architecture standards such as Open Mission Systems (OMS) and Open Communication Standard (OCS)
Experience working on mission systems software for aircraft platforms
