Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance Java services supporting REST‑based APIs
Build cloud‑native, horizontally scalable services deployed on public cloud platforms
Develop and secure APIs using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and SAML authentication and authorization flows
Implement API‑first designs with strong contract discipline and backward compatibility
Build and operate resilient systems meeting strict latency, throughput, availability, and error‑budget targets
Apply fault‑tolerance and resiliency patterns including retries, timeouts, circuit breakers, bulkheads, and rate limiting
Participate in production support, incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous reliability improvement
Use CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, deployment, and release processes
Own the full build‑to‑run lifecycle including monitoring, alerting, and capacity planning
Work with containerized workloads and modern deployment strategies such as blue/green, canary, and feature flags
Leverage AI‑assisted development tools to improve development velocity, code quality, test coverage, documentation, and troubleshooting
Promote responsible and effective use of AI within daily engineering workflows
Collaborate with platform, security, SRE, and product teams to deliver end‑to‑end solutions
Lead development efforts, coordinate team deliverables, and support product releases
Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and code reviews for onshore and offshore team members
Support single sign‑on integrations and identity federation across internal and external systems
Assist with release planning, delivery coordination, and continuous improvement of release processes
Identify technical risks early and implement mitigation strategies
Prototype, validate, and deliver application solutions aligned with business needs
Qualification
Required
8+ years of strong Java development experience building production‑grade backend services
8+ years of hands‑on experience developing RESTful APIs and securing them in enterprise environments
Experience deploying and operating services in public cloud environments
2+ years of solid experience with access management protocols including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and SAML
Proven experience operating high‑criticality systems with strict performance and availability SLAs
Strong understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, performance optimization, and resiliency
Experience implementing observability using metrics, logs, traces, and dashboards
Hands‑on experience with Java 17 and modern backend frameworks
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and test‑driven development
Experience working in Agile and Lean development environments
Ability to lead technical initiatives and guide teams through complex implementations
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across globally distributed teams
Experience troubleshooting production issues using logs, dashboards, and monitoring tools
Experience with source control and Agile tools such as Git, Jira, and CI/CD platforms
Experience with identity, token services, authentication mechanisms, and API security best practices
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
Preferred
Experience with databases and data stores such as MongoDB or Aerospike is preferred
