Hanford Mission Integration Solutions (HMIS) is offering an internship opportunity for undergraduate students and recent graduates to work with industry professionals in environmental management, engineering, technology, and business. The role involves supporting the Workforce Solutions organization through various responsibilities including advising on personnel policy, assisting in business operations, and compiling performance metrics.

Responsibilities
Advise and collaborate with organizational leaders, managers, and members of their staff, on all aspects of personnel policy, such as wages, benefits, pensions, and work practices
Assist in business operations and project coordination
Participate in special projects focused on performance, process improvement and operational support
Compile and report performance metrics to support data-driven decision-making
Specific project scope will be identified in interviews
Qualification
Required
Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, Psychology, Public Administration, or a closely related field
Must have one college term completed at an accredited college or university, must be enrolled as a full-time student, and live within a commutable distance from the Richland work location
Must have and maintain an overall GPA of 2.5 or above
Must be available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during breaks
Ability to obtain and maintain a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Credential badge
Preferred
Experience in benefits administration, employee relations, training coordination, or HR data management
Familiarity with HR information systems, applicant tracking systems, or digital collaboration platforms
Demonstrated involvement in student organizations, leadership roles, or campus employment related to human resources or workforce development
Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse team and effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
High level of integrity and professionalism
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Demonstrated leadership or initiative in academic or extracurricular activities
Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks/projects
Adaptability and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
