Backend Engineer

They are seeking a highly skilled Lead Back-End Software Engineer to develop innovative prototypes and capabilities for web applications and services, focusing on API design, data processing, and scalable infrastructure.

Responsibilities
Lead the development, documentation, and maintenance of efficient and innovative processes, tools, and methodologies to streamline the software engineering lifecycle
Provide technical oversight for various systems, guiding teams in designing and operating production-ready solutions
Evaluate emerging technologies, mentor engineers at all levels, and manage projects from inception to completion with minimal supervision
Shape the architecture of multiple web applications, build and expand infrastructure for multi-application communication, logging, and security features, as well as create test suites to verify reliability and performance
Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, translate system-level needs into software specifications, and oversee code reviews to ensure standards are met
Participate in architectural discussions, influence the technology roadmap, and take ownership of key projects, driving innovations that enhance system resilience, scalability, and performance
Research new technologies, oversee their implementation, and ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards
Qualification
Required
Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance
Minimum of 7+ years of experience in backend software development
Proficiency in server-side languages such as Go, Java, or equivalent
At least 5+ years of experience interfacing with databases using SQL or PL/SQL
Substantial experience in infrastructure development
Familiarity with Agile methodologies
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related fields
Experience in concurrency programming
Experience with cloud platforms like AWS
Experience with modern architectural styles such as microservices and event-driven architecture
Knowledge of tools like GitLab, Docker, Kubernetes
Knowledge of frameworks like NodeJS and ReactJS
Experience with Kafka, Redis, or RabbitMQ
