Business Development Manager

Dog Friendly Co. is a premium lifestyle brand for dogs and their humans, and they are seeking a Head of Wholesale to build, grow, and lead their wholesale channel. This role involves driving national wholesale growth, managing relationships with partners, and executing the wholesale strategy in alignment with company goals.

Responsibilities

Drive national wholesale growth across independent retailers, regional chains, and key strategic accounts
Actively prospect, pitch, and close new wholesale partners (small to large)
Own the wholesale pipeline from first contact through onboarding and repeat orders
Identify new market opportunities, territories, and retail categories
Build deep, long term relationships with wholesale partners
Grow existing accounts through range expansion, reorder strategy, and seasonal launches
Partner with retailers on sell through, merchandising, and in store success
Manage pricing, margin conversations, and commercial negotiations
Regularly travel to retailers across the US for in person meetings
Represent the brand at key US trade shows and industry events
Be the face of the brand in market
Own and execute the US wholesale strategy in line with broader company goals
Provide insights on market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback
Work closely with marketing, ops, and leadership to support launches and wholesale readiness
Forecast wholesale demand and contribute to growth planning

Required

Proven experience in wholesale sales, business development, or field sales
Strong track record of opening and growing wholesale accounts
Comfortable pitching to both independent retailers and larger chains
Highly commercial mindset with strong negotiation skills
Willingness to travel and work autonomously
Confident, relationship driven, and results focused

Preferred

Experience attending and selling at US trade shows is a strong advantage
